3 Python Blogs Worth Reading

For the last couple of weeks I’ve been busy learning Python, and as a new python programmer I’ve been reading everything I can find about the language. During my search I’ve come across a few python centric blogs that are worth checking out.

  • Planet Python

Planet Python is a great start to find blogs about Python. For those of you who haven’t experienced a Planet Feed Reader; a planet downloads news feeds published by web sites and aggregates their content together into a single combined feed, with the latest news first. Their are several types of planets decated to all kinds of intrest (For example check out the Utah Open Source Planet which I’m a part of!), this one happens to be about Python. By the way in case you were wondering the Planet Feed Reader is an open-source software project written in Python.

  • Neopythonic

This is Guido van Rossum’s personal blog, and if you aren’t familiar with Guido he is Python’s “Benevolent Dictator for Life.” Guido created Python in the late 1980s so it only makes sense to follow his blog. He gives a lot of useful insight into the future of Python and transitioning from version 2 to version 3 of Python. This is a great blog to follow if you want to find out the latest about Python.

  • The History of Python

This blog hasn’t been updated since April 24th, 2009, but for the beginner just getting started it does contain a lot of valuable information about the history of Python. You’ll get insight into how and why the language evolved over the years. Its worth taking a look at the history of Python to see where it is headed.
